Florida right-side/setter Kelly Murphy National Freshman of the Year

Murphy, who broke Florida’s career triple-doubles record just 27 matches into her collegiate career, tallied six triple-doubles on the 2008 campaign.

Murphy, 6-foot-2, became the first player in school history to be named the AVCA’s National Freshman of the Year. Murphy, the 2008 Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year, also became just the second player in school history to be named the AVCA South Region Freshman of the Year.
