BB recruit Cody Larson: Guilt by association

SIOUX FALLS, SD - "A highly-recruited South Dakota basketball standout is scheduled to be in court Tuesday for a misdemeanor drug charge. Eighteen-year-old Cody Larson played at Roosevelt High School this past season and has committed to play basketball Division I basketball at the University of Florida next season.

Larson's Roosevelt teammate, Grant Wynia, also faces a drug charge for taking a prescription drug illegally.

Larson's career as a basketball player has been a slam dunk in South Dakota. As one of the best players in the state, Larson signed a letter of intent to play for the Florida Gators just weeks ago. But now the star player faces a misdemeanor drug charge for being in the same room where drugs were being used or stored."

If he makes it to campus Billy Donovan will straighten him out. I can't recall any Gator Basketball players getting in trouble for drugs while on campus here.

As I see it, Larson was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Hopefully Billy will sit him down and tell him what's expected once he arrives on campus.

since we are short on scholarship spots, this may hurt him. seems like all the Gator b-ball players will have to be very careful this year.
