#58 Johnny Boykins Rutledge III played linebacker for Steve Spurrier’s Florida Gators from 1995 to 1998. Johnny was a key member of the 1996 Bowl Alliance National Championship team that defeated the FSU Seminoles 52-20. That defense anchored by fellow Gators #42 Jevon Kearse, #29 Mike Petersen, #44 James Bates, and #92 Reggie McGrew. In 1997 & 1998 he was one of the few bright spots on teams that lost to rivals Georgia, Tennessee and FSU. He was named 2nd team All SEC his junior year, and 1st team All SEC his senior year. Johnny was a second round draft pick for the Arizona Cardinals in the 1999 NFL draft, and he played in the NFL with the Cardinals and the Denver Broncos until 2003. He returned to campus and completed his bachelor's degree in health and human performance in 2007. He is currently a financial professional in the Greater Atlanta area.
