16-Vernell Brown
Vernell "the face of the Florida Gators" Brown played in 45 games as a defensive back and wide receiver for Ron Zook and Urban Meyer from 2001-2005. Vernell arrived in Gainesville as a defensive back out of high school but switched to wide receiver before returning to cornerback during the 2003 season. Although he was only 5'8" and 165 pounds, he was versatile enough as a freshman to be part of both the wide receiver and punt returner rotations. He also had seven career rushes for 31 yards (4.4 avg).
