Well said, as usual my friend.
I know you are right in the long run...I just hope and pray we can all experience at least the realistic hope of an upward trend anytime SOON.
…Maybe the best sign of how far UF’s program in particular has sunk, and FSU’s followed similarly downward, is the very fact that this “annual rivalry” to close out the season during “Rivalry Week” means so little—even to the fans of each of the participating schools.
Speaking just for...
There is one element of all this silliness that both ANGERS and strangely ENCOURAGES me:
The whole gamut of media spokespersons all seem so THREATENED by the idea of Kiffen leaving Ole Miss and coming to Florida…They HATE the very notion, have lined up to condemn the idea from the moment it came...
Things have managed to get more ridiculous—extreme to the point of absurdity.
Have you heard or read of some of the latest “reports”?
(I can only see them as “individuals’ inventive RUMORS”…)
“De Boer jumps to PSU, whereupon LANE takes the now-open Alabama job.”
Overnight there were suddenly a...
Even things like "pride", "tradition", and "cross state rivals" have seemingly been reduced to outright irrelevance by now--certainly these mean little in the minds or souls of players who in this not-so-brave new world see THEMSELVES as little more than "hired guns", concerned only with who is...
Yeah--between this surreal scheduling monstrosity, and ONE GUY="Agent to the Stars", we have The Perfect Storm of unbalanced absurdity (or is that "absurd imbalance"?
All I know is that it just makes no sense and is unfair to everyone EXCEPT Jimmy Sexton.
(I was going to add "and his clients"...
The clearest message I am getting is in our numbers here at “GE”:
Over the last few weeks since Billy’s firing our numbers have been startlingly higher than average—but even more suddenly, in the last few days they have dropped WAY down:
They are currently generally bottoming out…maybe a dozen...
Cannot help but agree—and we are far from the only Gator fans who are coming to see it that way.
As I was drifting off last night, TV still on YouTube in the other room, I heard someone on whatever fan site saying something to his partner, someone FINALLY saying stuff I TOO found myself thinking...
My friends, we have GOT to change this whole SCENE: I know that is "the general idea"--but I am trying to go BEYOND the edge-of-doom precipice all of Gator Nation, in finding ourselves with nothing but vague promises, big headlines and fading maybes, now finds itself dancing on.
If only we had...
At least you showed, LF.
Hard to take.
I haven't been watching...
That was an enthusiastic sold out crowd in the Swamp back at kickoff; how'd it look by the 2nd quarter? Just wondering...
Just checked the halftime score:
31-0 Tennessee.
Looks like our TEAM checked out even before I did.
AND...no members (but myself--and that's just for the moment) and just 20 "guests"...on a gameday, at half time, against Tennessee.
Sad.
Was sort of wondering what I was even DOING here as I tuned it in...
Then I saw this crowd in the Swamp--not just that they sold out, but the energy.
Of course, with 2/3of our starters on defense out, Heupdk'z opening script here has been z easy marck down tge find for them so far.
I am prepared...
@Escambia94,
Aw, MAN…THANK YOU.
You are on a ROLL this morning—and boy, did I ever NEED it.
I was about to come on here, proceed directly to THIS THREAD and announce,
“I AM DONE WITH COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!”
Because the truth is that I AM thoroughly SICK of just about EVERYTHING, every detail, large...
I’ll be watching (the early going, anyway) tomorrow night. Would enjoy us maintaining the home streak against these guys, if we could somehow pull it off—down half our starters on both sides of the ball!
Not much more to say about it.
Playing this game late in the year like this is just WRONG...
(No resolution…Big surprise. Another week and a day, minimum—For Gators, best to ignore everything but our own ongoing immediate (albeit mainly meaningless) team activities and game outcomes against two rivals to finish out the season’s play…)
I dunno HOW we lost site of it:
The GATOR-HATERS...
Late Friday, Nov. 21…
I wanna make sure I get this in, on the record before anything actually materializes:
Even as a Gator who sees him as the BEST FIT FOR US BY FAR, I am beginning to sour on this whole Lane Kiffen hire.
The ONLY reason I would still gladly (yes, GLADLY) sign him if he came...
(On the eve of weekend of Tennessee game…)
Look: We aren’t gonna GET Lane…We better somehow come up with an exciting alternative candidate—or rather SCOTT STRICKLIN (and/or whomever wields enough power over there to override his next costly misjudgment) better do so—PRONTO, or we may well find...
Me—I am sick-to-death of the whole “external discussion” that has attached itself to any talk of the actual “REGULARLY SCHEDULED GAMES” now.
For example, I didn’t like the “feel” of THIS particular game’s scheduling, so unusually late in the season, upon first look back last year:
“…NO!—we...
