GAINESVILLE - "Svend Wilbekin, the father of The Rock School basketball star Scottie Wilbekin, confirmed Thursday night that the 6-foot-2 point guard will sign a scholarship to attend the University of Florida in the fall.
The Wilbekins had been awaiting NCAA clearance for Scottie to graduate after his junior year of high school and leave early for college. The elder Wilbekin said Scottie has taken his SAT test and his core work at The Rock was so strong that he only needs to score a minimal amount on the test to be OK for admission at UF."
