Pease gets paid, Ball to return and other Gator news and notes

Gator Fan
Brent Pease will make $490,000 annually as the newest assist of Will Muschamp.

Upon signing a three-year contract with UF, Pease received $100,000 as a signing bonus and will receive that after his second and third years as reported by the Orlando Sentinel. He gets $10,000 from Nike and a dealer car.

A nice gig if you can get, it but don't worry about Pease causing the Gator football program to go bankrupt, for the 2009-10 academic year for example, the Gator football program reportedly brought in $68 million a year in revenue, with $44 million profit.
-LB Neiron Ball announced on Facebook that he is cleared to return to football. He wrote, "Got GREAT news today!!!I am CLEARED TO PLAY FOOTBALL AGAINl!This is one of many God’s Blessings….I am so thankful and excited!PRAISE GOD."

Last February Ball was hospitalized with with a ruptured blood vessel in his brain, arteriovenous malformation (AVM). He missed the 2011 season.
-The Gators self-reported secondary violations to the NCAA in nearly all athletic programs. The Football program had three violations, two for "pocket dials", assistants mistakenly calling recruits in violation of NCAA rules, and a third for a mail out to a recruit which violated NCAA's rules regarding the marketing materials the school can use in the recruiting process. The information was obtained by the Orlando Sentinel through a Freedom Information Act request.

UGA has also self-reported some pocket-dialing to the NCAA, seems to be an epidemic.

-Will Muschamp and his staff continue to focus recruiting efforts on the defensive line. ESPN reports the following defensive tackle recruits are targeted for the 2013 Class:

Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly Co.) , Darius Latham (Indianapolis/North Central), Michael Hill (Pendleton, S.C./Pendleton), Keith Bryant (Delray Beach, Fla./Atlantic Community -- Miami commit), Kelsey Griffin (Hoschton, Ga./Mill Creek), Greg Gilmore (Hope Mills, N.C./South View), Terry Bell (Lakeland, Fla./East Mississippi CC), Maquedius Bain (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./University School -- FSU commit)

And Defensive End targets include: Stacy Thomas (Miami, Fla./Gulliver Prep), Demarcus Walker (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood), Isaac Rochell (McDonough, Ga./Eagles Landing Christian), Antonio Riles(Lawrenceville, Ga./Archer), Carl Lawson (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton), Joey Bosa (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./St. Thomas Aquinas), Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga/Grayson), Elijah Daniel (Avon, Ind./Avon), Dane Rogers (Shelby, N.C./Crest)
