- Obviously we need a new offensive coordinator. I won't beat this dead horse much longer but I had to list it. I'll just say that you don't take the fastest team in America and turn them into a smash mouth offense. You don't run the option with a drop back passer either. Use your player's talents to exploit your opponents' weaknesses. Promote Loeffler. That is all.
- Meyer needs to take back control of special teams.
- Will Hill needs to be benched. Coach Austin has done an excellent job. The only problem with his unit is Will Hill. When we get shredded for yards it is Hill's fault 85% of the time. He's an amazing athlete. But being an athlete isn't enough to become The Eraser. You have to have instincts and knowledge of coverage schemes. Put in Matt Elam at strong safety and move Ahmad Black to Free Safety. Elam lacks a little coverage knowledge but he's no worse off than Will Hill. He does however match Hill on athleticism and actually overcomes him with his instincts. He will get burned occasionally due to his inexperience, but he does have the potential to be an Eraser at safety.
- Develop a basic package for Debose. Yes, he's a little Forrest Gumpish but we have to have him on the field to break open drives here and there. If he can't learn the whole package (which isn't really quite understandable since our offensive package is about ten plays long, including all the trick plays) then have two or three plays that he gets called in on. If he can't learn the routes and assignments for two or three plays then he is legally retarded and shouldn't be at a University anyway.
- Let Burton throw the ball and toss off more. 95% of the plays with Burton have him just trucking forward. Did you see what happened when he made that throw to Hines at the Kentucky game? Wide open. Did you see what happened when he pitched the ball to Gillislee on Saturday? Defense completely miffed. Nobody is expecting Burton to get rid of the ball. Mullen was smart enough to exploit defenses by letting Tebow throw and pitch occasionally. You have to be more unpredictable.
- Bench Moody. Seriously. If you haven't learned by now that he is not up to par then you're blind. I know Demps and Gillislee are banged up. But you have Mack Brown riding pine and he can break open big plays. He couldn't be any worse than Moody.
- Fix the O line. Addazio needs to stop trying to handle an entire offense and focus on his O line. It's a line filled mostly with five star athletes and yet they look like Swiss cheese. Do you see what South Carolina's O line accomplished against the rough defensive front of Alabama. Yeah, those are two and three star athletes. They are just coached better. Sure the O line is banged up, but when you fall back on that, it's an excuse. Every O line in the SEC is always banged up. The human body is not meant to be that large and forced to make the athletic movements that they make. It is guaranteed that you will have nagging injuries your entire career. You have to learn to play through the pain. Everyone else does.
- This one is going to raise some eyebrows. I doubt anyone has made it this far in this long post, but for that one guy that did make it this far, hear me out. Keep Pouncey at Center. His snapping has improved. We are knitpicking now, jumping on him for every little snapping error. But if you look at his stats on wide/high/low snaps at this point he is right on the average with every center in the nation. There's always going to be some errant snaps. So don't expect every one to be perfect. Our O line is strongest with Pouncey at Center. If we put in Robey it will weaken our center. And since Addazio wants us to be a smash mouth team we have to have our brutes at the center.
- Get creative with the shorter routes. Even if Addazio wants to go deep more, he can't now. Brantley is too sore in the ribs. He is overcompensating with his arm on his deep throws now and will injure his shoulder if he is forced to go deep. We need more than screens. Run a basic package of slant routes with Debose and Hines. Use some misdirection. Spread the freakin field! We recruited spread players so you might as well try it.
- Don't give up hope. We are still in control of our own destiny. We can win the SEC if Meyer steps up and starts coaching.
