Wildcats LB Danny Trevathan puts a hit on Cardinals RB Jeremy Wright knocking the ball loose during the Louisville Cardinals versus the Kentucky Wildcats game at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, KY.

The Florida Gators are a confident team traveling to Lexington, KY having outscored opponents 113-23 in three victories. Kentucky is coming off a loss 24-17 loss to Louisville a week ago, but won its first two games against Western Kentucky 14-3, and Central Michigan 27-13.

Kentucky is trying to beat the Gators for the first time since 1986. The Gators 24-game winning streak ranks among the best in FBS history.

Most Cons. Wins Over a Major Conf. Opp. in Current Series (play annually)
43 - Notre Dame over Navy, 1964-2006
36 - Nebraska over Kansas, 1969-2004
26 - Tennessee over Kentucky, 1985-2010
24 - Florida Over Kentucky, 1987-1

The Gators should guard against overconfidence against a UK team with talent on defense, (though they lost offensive playmakers like Randall Cobb, now with the Green Bay Packers, off of last years team). In fact, ESPN analyst Desmond Howard has put the Gators on "upset alert" for Saturday's game in the Bluegrass State.

Offensively UK still has weapons such as junior wideout La'Rod King who has scored a touchdown in each of the Wildcats first three games this season. King has 14 catches for 226 yards this season. E.J. Fields, another junior wideout, has seven catches for 57 yards and a TD.

The Wildcats are led on offensive by junior QB Morgan Newton who has 446 yards passing with four touchdowns, and four interceptions. He has completed 55.8 percent of his passes going 43-for-77.

Defensively the Wildcats feature senior All-America linebacker Danny Trevathan (a Florida native who is a "tackling machine"), and the SEC's leading tackler this season with 38 so far. Senior safety Winston Guy has 30 tackles and two interceptions.

"They do a lot offensively to keep you off balance," said Will Muschamp. "Defensively, they’re only giving up 13 points a game, so they’re playing really well. Special teams, they lead in kick off coverage and kickoff return in the SEC. Our preparation will not change based on who we play, it counts for one SEC game."

Prediction: Gators 33, Kentucky 10

I call this one 45-10, Gators. I spot the Wildcats 10 points because they are at home, and we will probably play the scrubs in the 4th quarter.
