The Florida Gators will touchdown in Omaha, Nebraska today and being preparations for their opening round game against UCLA on Saturday night. The last time the Florida Gators were in the College World Series they made it all the way to the National Championship series against Texas. The Gators ultimately lost, but it was a memorable experience... especially having to go through the Cornhuskers on the way. The Gators are hot right now, having won 19 of their last 23 games. Will they keep it alive?
There is double elimination in Bracket Play and it's a best of 3 series when you reach the National Championship. The Gators start the bracket off against UCLA. On paper, the Bruins appear to have the better team - they have a lower team ERA (2.97) and a higher team batting average than the Gators. It's going to be a tough game. The Gators don't need to win it to stay alive, but a win will definitely give them an easier road.
