Former Florida swingman DeVon Walker has found a new home.
The 6-foot-6 Walker will be heading to Troy as a graduate transfer, the school announced Tuesday. Walker graduated from UF last week with a degree in criminology.
Coming back from a torn ACL that sidelined him for the 2014-15 season, Walker could never get on track last season, averaging 1.6 points and 1.7 rebounds. A change of scenery and another year removed from the injury should help.
“We’re thrilled with DeVon’s decision to continue his career as a fifth-year grad transfer here at Troy,” Troy coach Phil Cunningham said in a press release. “DeVon was the epitome of a successful student-athlete during his four years at Florida, and we expect him to make a huge impact on and off the court in his one season in our program. Our team has been missing an athletic, play-making wing, and DeVon definitely brings those characteristics to the court.”
