Leonard George and Willie Jackson Sr. were recruited by Coach Ray Graves in 1968, even though the University had started integration back in 1958. As a running back Leonard was the first black athlete to score a touchdown in Tuscaloosa against the mighty Crimson Tide. Leonard moved to defensive back his last two years in Gainesville. Willie accumulated 1170 yards receiving off 75 receptions for 8 touchdowns. Willie is the father of Willie, Jr, and the uncle to Terry. Note: all three Jacksons wore #22.
