Robert Anthony Lilly played defensive back for Charley Pell's Florida Gators from 1980 to 1983. Tony Lilly also happens to be current Gator coach Will Muschamp's favorite Gator. Tony earned a spot as the starter when veteran Cecil Timothy "Tim" Groves was injured in Tony's freshman year. In his senior year of 1983, Tony had 4 INT and 3 PR and was named to the first team All SEC team, and 2nd team All American. He was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1984 NFL Draft.
