Ahmad Black played corner back and strong safety for Urban Meyer's Florida Gators from 2007 to 2010. He started off his Gator career as a CB, playing in seven games before switching to strong safety his sophomore year. As a sophomore he led the nation in "pick 6's" (2) and interceptions (7) and was 2nd in interception return yards (191). His NCAA-leading 7th interception of the season came in the 24-14 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2009 BCS Championship Game. After a relatively quiet 2009 season where his tackles increased from 59 to 70, Mr. Black exploded for 108 tackles in 2010, #1 for all defensive backs in the galaxy, #5 for all players in NCAA (normally linebackers lead in this category). He was also #2 in the nation in solo tackles and #3 in pick 6's. Mr. Black ended his Gator career as first team All American, first team All SEC, and MVP of the 2011 Outback Bowl. He finished his career 15th in career interception returns for touchdown, 7th in interception return yards, 2nd in SEC interception return yards, 22nd in SEC career passes defended, and 2nd in career SEC interceptions returned for touchdowns. He was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fifth round of the NFL draft.
