Clifford Tyrone Charlton of Tallahassee, Florida played linebacker for Galen Hall from ’84 to ’87. Clifford had big shoes to fill, considering his predecessors, Wilber Marshall, Alonzo Johnson, and Huey Richardson all rank 2nd through 5th on the all-time career sacks list. Charlton ranks 4 th all-time with 25 sacks. Not bad, considering the company he is in. His pass rushing and quarterback sacking skills were pivotal in the Gators posting 9-1-1 records in ’84 and ’85. He was first-team All-SEC in ’86 and ’87. Charlton also tallied 15 forced fumbles and 49 TFL.
