Rick Casares played fullback for Bob Woodruff's Gators from 1951 to 1953. He is credited with scoring the Gators' first bowl game touchdown on January 1st 1953. In his senior year, he was named 2nd team All SEC and honorable mention All American. Bonus: he was also All SEC in basketball. His college career was cut short in 1953 by the Korean War draft. Casares was later inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Association as a Gator Great.

Bonus 2: In the NFL he was the Chicago Bears leading rusher until Walter payton broke his record in the 1980s.
