Jarvis Williams was a hard hitting defensive back for Galen Hall's Florida Gators from 1984 to 1987. He was a key member of two of Florida's best teams, the back to back 9-1-1 seasons in 1984 & 1985. Jarvis is well remembered in Gator lore for knocking out Miami Hurricane receiver Melvin Bratton in a 1986 game, although the #13 Gators lost to that #2 ranked team.
He was 1st team All SEC in 1986, and 1st team All American in 1987. He started in 45 consecutive games, 2nd in Gator history. He also led the team in interceptions with 10, and punt returns with 222 yards off 20 returns. He was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Association as a Gator Great in 2001.
