William D. White was born in Tallahassee, Florida. He was part of Steve Spurrier‘s first crew at Florida, before the Gator Glory Days in the mid-1990s. When he left Gainesville, he was the Gator record holder for interceptions with 14. He was on the SEC All-Freshmen team in 1989, and the All-SEC team the remainder of his years in the orange and blue. Will helped make the Gators a household name again on defense by setting a precedent for a ball hawking defense to complement the explosive offense of the 1990s.
