The Florida Gators men's basketball team improved their overall record to 6-1 with a 73-58 win over the Florida A&M Rattlers last night. The Gators are now 10-0 all-time against the Rattlers and 18-0 against teams from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
Lamar Twitty of Florida A&M put up 20 points and 6 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to surpass the Florida Gators, who had 4 players score in the double digits (Tyus, Calathes, Walker, Parsons). I love how the Gators have been distributing the ball and players are scoring off the bench. If this continues into SEC play, we're going to have a great season.
Two plays that come to mind from last night's game were both from Chandler Parsons. Being alert in the low post, he was able to follow up two missed shots (one by Werner and I can't remember the other) with slam dunk put backs. He showed excellent court awareness and agression.
Some positives to take from the game... The Gators had only 6 turnovers, they shot 40% from beyond the arc, and they shot 88% as a team from the free throw line.
Next up - Florida State on December 7.
