University of Florida senior setter Angie McGinnis (Fraser, Mich.) has been named a second-team All-American, while senior outside hitter Marcie Hampton (Gainesville, Fla.) earned third-team accolades and sophomore libero/defensive specialist Elyse Cusack (Melrose, Fla.) garnered honorable mention recognition, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
The trio of UF selections marks the fifth time in the last six years that the Gators have had at least three representatives on AVCA All-America teams, and the seventh-straight season in which they’ve collected at least two All-America nods.
The Florida volleyball annals now boast 21 players who have combined to earn 46 All-America honors, each coming since head coach Mary Wise took over the reigns in 1991.
