We’ve got talent, depth—and (with the continued ascension/growth—amazingly so—of Kyle Trask) continued GROWING STENGTH at QB!
I don’t KNOW what this strange season, in the strange constraints and complications of this strange “pandemic world” we find ourselves living through/existing IN, has in store for us, but I suppose all we can expect is “more of the UNEXPECTED”!
I DO hope we can somehow KEEP #5, Emory Jones through it all. As it is, we’ll be facing ANOTHER of our recently-lost QBs already this year in Fillipe Franks and Arkansas. I know what the many PREVIOUS such instances has brought—but then again, Kyle’s story is also an ABJECT LESSON in the possible advantages inherent in keeping the faith, sticking with the Gators and continuing to develop while patiently awaiting the chance to be “The Guy”, to inherit, run and lead the TEAM yourself. All it takes is confidence, determination and hard work—but the potential rewards are extensive. From what I’ve seen, while not without alternatives, the actual realities of THOSE, in practice, haven’t been all THAT rewarding for most who automatically jumped ship if their “instant gratification” wasn’t satisfied.
(But while I’m talking about it, I WILL take the opportunity to pose THIS question: “How good a showing, how tough of an opponent WILL Fillipe and his new offense be when we face them, do y’all think?” It will be an interesting, if a bit awkward, meeting//for a LOT of reasons...)
