It is Sunday, and we continue to have trouble getting further info regarding injuries to frontline players in the aftermath of Saturday's otherwise smooth victory. We saw CJ Henderson's foot in a plastic ankle brace on the sidelines for OURSELVES by the 2nd half of last night's telecast... Word is that he's the dreaded "day-to-day" now; Those "high ankle strains" are notoriously persistent and irksome for weeks mid-season at times. It often takes a determined stretch of rehab and non-contact to allow them to truly heal, once and for all.
The Tomey wrist injury is somehow more mysterious, at least its seriousness and the manner in which no one has given a "straight answer" since it first occurred as to its exact nature or seriousness: He came off holding it, was immediately whisked to the X-ray equipment under the stands, then sent over to Shands for a full on CT-scan as the 2nd half got under way: He never returned to the game, and little further has been revealed or released since, except his condition now ALSO listed as "day-to-day".
This is all somewhat worrisome: We got USED to a certain "medical stonewalling" regardimg injuries during the Muschamp era which eased somehat during MacEllwaine's tenure and then opened up MUCH MORE under Mullens last season...but this is more like the "bad old days": I don't wanna read TOO much into it (see little REASON for it thus far with what seems at most perhaps a bone crack that at worst might require time and MAYBE a padded cast and some time during rehab... UT even "sources close to the team" are acting a bit more paranoid, remain unusually tight-lipped even now, 2 DAYS after the injury in question. At this point, I guess we'll be dependimg upon someone at the PRESSER to ask Coach Dan about it DIRECTLY...
