We'll hoping it's the sign to things to come. He looked good only throwing one pick but that was the result of his receiver dropping the ball.

Agreed. Aaron Philo plays like Graham Mertz, has the arm strength of Kyle Trask, the running ability of Feleipe Franks, and the mustache of Kerwin Bell.

We all have a certain amount of that…I was more a Tramell-supporter; I STILL like the kid, love his long ball…and he looked good coming in for mop-up duty in the 4th. They should get him as much of that sort of ongoing game-experience as they can as Philo and this potentially high-flying offense can give as the season goes on: Whatever the “experience-gap” that supposedly separates them amounts to, we are lucky to have such a competent and talented “QB-2” and ought to do everything possible to bring him along the rest of the way.
But no matter how close, or what the actual diffs, what we saw yesterday in Philo assuredly WAS a comfortable and poised leader running a potent offense exactly in that “Point Guard”-mode that so many commentators have been hoping, urging him to be.
Should this turn out to be “the first step”, just the opening iteration of what will further develop and eventually build into “the captain some fast-attack warship” that tears up the bulk of its pending 2026 schedule, well, a LOT of us will “stand corrected”.
A lot of games, unpredictable action and events between here (Week 1, day after Game 1) and there (Tallahassee, Thanksgiving Weekend).
