LSU Game Thread

As long as we win the field position battle and turnover battle, we win this game, no question.

On paper, even with homefield advantage, we should win. But that Ole Miss game will never cease to haunt my predictions...

Going to be 100% honest, I am nervous about this game. For many reasons.

But, I have faith the Gators will go in there and play ball and hopefully bring us a win!

Turnovers turnovers turnovers and a dash of special teams. Whatever team wins in those areas will win the game for sure. It's going to be a good one, but I will put my money of the GATORS!!

I feel confident that our defense will be able to contain LSU's offense to a certain degree, but the big question is the offense. Even with a healthy Tebow, our offense needs to prove itself against a good SEC defense after struggling against Tennessee.

and I agree about Caleb Sturgis and his kickoffs lol

He needs to break himself of that habit of kickoffs going out of bounds and coughing up yards to the opposing team; seems every game that happens.

Anyway, more good news on Tebow: http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_college_uf/2009/10/medical-signs-looking-positive-for-tebow.html

School's out for Johnny Brantley: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/gatorbytes/2009/10/08/no-more-%e2%80%98baby-steps%e2%80%99-for-brantley/

According to Coach Meyer, we're "jacked, super jacked": http://www.titletownfl.com/florida-gator-football/urban-meyer-florida-gator-football/2009/10/08/were-jacked-super-jacked/

Oh yeah, Robbie Andreu's prediction for the game: http://andreu.blogs.gatorsports.com/10230/prediction-time-for-the-lsu-game/

^^^Yeah Sturgis kicking out of bounds really gets under my skin. We know he has a strong leg, just kick it into the endzone if you can't keep it in the fieldof play. The 20 yard line is a lot better than the 35.

Adam Silverstein of OGGOA gave an interview about the game to Newsday: http://www.newsday.com/blogs/sports/campus-confidential-1.812060/florida-lsu-through-the-eyes-of-a-gator-1.1512551

We got lucky with a couple of missed flags. Riley got away with a holding call right before that touchdown.

But, we also didn't get that helmet to helmet hit on Brandon either. So, I guess it's even.

still no passing game :mad0235:

i dont know how we're gonna beat bama

Seeing that Timmy was back after suffering that concussion, it would have been foolish on Coach Meyer's part to take unnecessary chances. We found a way to win; in spite of the fact that we didn't show the explosive offensive attack against LSU that we had last year, it was defense that got us the win in Baton Rouge.

We held LSU to only 3 points; right now our defense has only allowed two TD's scored against them from opponents. That's something to be admired.
