The Florida Gators men's basketball team beat the University of Central Florida Golden Knights in Jacksonville 89-61 on December 20. It was a night for the freshman as Erving Walker and Kenny Kadji combined for 29 points. This was finally the game from Kadji we were all waiting for.
Let's not forget the veterans though. Alex Tyus (20 points) and Nick Calathes (16 points) additionally recorded double-doubles as Florida improved to 8-2 overall on the season and 9-0 all-time against the Knights (5-4) with the victory.
The Golden Knights really never stood a chance. The Gators started off hot outscoring the Knights 52-33 to enter the locker room with a 19-point advantage at halftime. The Gators also limited themselves to only 9 turnovers in the entire game. A couple of weeks ago, we'd see 9 turnovers in a half!
The Gators are really starting to mesh well and put some big points on the board. There's no reason the Gators can't win their next 3 games against: Georgia Southern, Winthrop and Stetson.
