The No. 7 Florida Gators (15-2, 4-0 SEC) escaped with a 68-61 road victory against the Auburn Tigers (8-7, 0-4 SEC) on Saturday afternoon at Auburn Arena in Auburn, AL, improving to 7-2 in single-digit decisions this season.

We are a basketball school, and a football school, and a many-other-sport school. I get what you are saying. Florida is primarily a football school, but it is also one of the few that is also a basketball school. The last time Forbes measured the value and profitability of all the major college sports, Florida football was valued around the #5 sport in college, Florida basketball was valued as about the #40 sport. Just for reference, FSU football was ranked around #36. The difference between Florida basketball and FSU football was just a few percentage points! Granted, FSU football got a small bump this year, but historically FSU has not been able to sustain profitability for very long. Even in a slow era of Florida victories the past few years, it has remained profitable and valuable.

By the way, did anyone notice that the referees tried to "pull an Auburn" by giving them another 10 seconds on the clock? Patric Young stymied an Auburn rally with a tremendous block on the Tigers' best player, and he did it flat-footed!
