ESPN.com has reported that Florida offensive coordinator Dan Mullen will be the next head coach at Mississippi State. The official announcement is set to be held Thursday morning in Starkville.
From ESPN.com

Mullen fits the profile Mississippi State was searching for: a high-energy personality, a strong recruiter and an offensive background. In addition, Mullen knows the SEC after four years of working with Urban Meyer in Gainesville -- something that gave him an advantage over Oklahoma's Kevin Wilson, another high-profile offensive coordinator interviewed for the job.

It's not known yet whether Mullen will stay with Florida through the BCS Championship Game against Oklahoma or if he'll head straight to work for the Bulldogs. I hope he decides to stay with the Gators. I have full confidence in Meyer's ability to coach this team, but change and distraction before a big game isn't always a good thing. The Gators need Mullen out there, and really... you'd think Mullen would like to add another National Championship to his resume.
Well Mullen... we've had some good times and some bad times with your play calling over the years. It will be very hard for you to compete with the big dogs in the SEC, but congrats on your new position and we wish you much success (just not when you play the Gators).
