So far the studs of the 2022 class are all Napier's recruits: RB Montrell Johnson, OL O'Cyrus Torrance, RB Trevor Etienne, WR Ricky Pearsall, OL Kamryn Waites, and LB Shemar James. Mullen's best recruits remaining on the roster are RCB Jason Marshall, WR-X Xzavier Henderson, OL Richard Gouraige, and TE Keon Zipperer. Napier recruits LB Shemar James, DL Chris McClellan, and CB Jalen Kimber could possibly take over as starters in their roles.

Thank you, E--. Another valuable, insightful statistically-based analysis that inevitably places SEVERAL huge implied-points "on the table".
Mainly about what it says about where we are and where we probably SHOULD be going.
There's "HOPE" there too--IF there's TIME for Billy & Co. to do what he came here to do.
THAT, I'm afraid, is the part that begins to fill me with trepidation. I'm thinking that we may well be into "circle-the-wagons", "pull-a-rabbit-from-a-hat" shocker-mode in the coming weeks just to GET the chance to see if he and they can DO what they were hired to come in an DO here.

For comparison, Alabama's average players are better than some of our best players. For the Gators, anything above 0.95 is colored green as the top 10%. For the Tide, 0.95 is colored yellow for average. Alabama has 10 players rated higher than our best player--and some of them are backups for Bama! One of Bama's best players is Trey Sanders, who was a lock to Florida along with his brother Umstead. When Dan Mullen shit the bed with recruiting, Trey committed to Alabama, and later, Umstead entered the transfer portal. Bama's 3rd-team QB has a higher rating than any of the QBs has recruited to Florida since 2009!

To Napier's credit, his 2023 class features some recruits on par with Bama, but it will take years to build this kind of depth--perhaps 3 years of consistently high recruiting. Muschamp, McElwain, and Mullen screwed this program since 2009.

And the miserable news just keeps on acommin'!
And my question continues to hang out there, twisting in the empty, howling wind:
"Will Billy be GIVEN ample time to get there?"
Assuming all you document was clear, not just to Billy but to the people who hired him, is that original clear-eyed commitment still intact?
Were they always, and are they STILL prepared for the fickle impatience and notorious changeability of Gator Nation?
Because with all you say, and the supposedly pending avalanche of poor performance and lopsided scores now on the way, that very "commitment" appears likely about to be severely tested.
If there is and/or ever WAS anything TO the numbers you have marshaled to build your case, there is little we can do now to "avoid the inevitable--little except to carry on the effort already under way in our program since Napier's arrival to REVERSE THOSE numbers, "slowly but SURELY" turn them in our favor in the weeks, months, YEARS AHEAD--assuming we GET that time, our Coach here working HARD "for however long it takes"?
Because I think you're right: It WILL take all that, the time and wholesale exchange not just of talent but the fundamental underlying attitude and structure of our program, after more than a decade of multiple ego-ridden bungling by at least 4 different Coaches BEFORE Billy, just to get us in POSITION to compete at the highest level once more.
In this day, the times we live in:
Will we, will HE really GET that time?
