No. If his number is retired, then Wuerffel, Spurrier, Smith, Youngblood, etc. all deserve to have their numbers retired as well.
Simply retiring Tebow's number only isn't fair to all the other UF greats, and there have been quite a few besides Tebow.
The bolded part is what will concern the scouts imo.
You can have any throwing motion you want as a QB if the ball gets out quickly and accurately. But those extra seconds it takes for Tebow's delivery will become a major factor unless it is modified.
I'm not worried at all. He seems like a very good QB. Not to mention that not many athletes have the maturity to sit behind someone like Tebow for 2 years.

Doesn't matter much now that he wasn't going to catch up to Paterno. I wish the NCAA would've really punished them by taking away scholarships.
Easley and Dunkley were important commitments today.
Throw in the fact that Dorsey, Dowling, and Shaw all looked good today and the future looks bright.
Yes, because it's a huge game for recruiting.
A big win potentially locks up some important recruits, while a poor showing will cause more trouble with recruiting.

O-town Gator, I tried to warn you last time we talked about Elam potentially going to FSU, but all that happened was I got called chicken-little.
I'll say it again; do not underestimate FSU. They are getting talent into their program with...
As a Dolphin fan, I don't share everyone else's opinion of him having class.
Running the franchise into the ground due to his coaching and awful decisions (e.g. picking Culpepper over Brees), lying about leaving the Dolphins, and sneaking out of South Florida unnoticed so he wouldn't have to...
UF survived after Wuerffel, and it will survive after Tebow.
Brantley is a great young QB and we have good WR's. As long as the top recruits are still coming to UF, I'm not that worried.
If there's one thing Urban Meyer does not have to worry about, it's money.
Had he taken a few years off, and decided to coach again somewhere else, he'd still be the biggest name on the coaching market.
Horrible article.
There were no better options out there to hire, no "step up" if you will from Meyer. If this doesn't get dragged out, and we find out how long his sabbatical is for, this is the best option.
Graves was a good coach, but Dickey basically undid all of the good things Graves had done to the program. And Dickey led to the awful 1979 season.
Certainly there's no justification for breaking the rules, but yes, the other schools were doing the same things. But the NCAA probably wanted to...
