Bowl game

You DO know why--you (like myself) just think that the "reason"--ie. fan betting-habits, and where the money was going, at least when it opened--is just plain mistaken. The betting public has got it wrong.
(I KNOW I don't have to explain what "the line" actually reflects to someone as facile in higher order mathematics and statistical analysis as YOU, E-...please understand that the above is aimed at the public-at-large; there is widespread misunderstanding on this out there, with even the TV-color-analysts clearly not getting it after all these years. Drives me crazy.)

PSu does show up for their bowl games. I'd be concerned about losing this one. The program is in shambles right now. We're technically in a transition and the players' minds are probably focused more on other things than the Outback Bowl. But somehow Paterno seems to get his guys prepped right for bowls. He's been spanking SEC teams lately too.

Well, that was embarassing. Temple deserved to be in the Outback over Penn State.

I would not say that. Penn State came to play, and they stayed in the game up until the end. McGloin should have picked on #36 Moses Jenkins who was out of position a couple times--he was throwing his hands up and looking at the sideline with no clue of the defensive coverage on a couple plays. McGloin failed to pick up and that and instead decided to throw at the best player on the field, #35 Ahmad Black or up-and-coming #31 Cody Riggs. From where I was sitting, I was thinking that Penn State was going to pick up on #36 Jenkins being out of position or #10 Will Hill being clear on the wrong side of the field.

In other words, the Florida Gators as a team did not beat Penn State--a handful of rock stars like Black and Riggs single-handedly turned the game around for us. Our offense managed 101 yards or so. We were not dominating the line of scrimmage on offense or defense. Our cornerbacks and safeties made the pivotal tackles, not the linebackers and DEs. Penn State was pretty good that day and could have won. I won't knock the Nittany Lions.

My understanding is the Muschamp was at the game evaluating. I'm really hoping that he sees what Brantley is and IS NOT and will decide accordingly. If the kid turns it around and becomes a super star in the new offense then I will be quick to post an apology, but if not I hope his leash is short and we move to the next option. I'm willing to take some lumps next year if it's for progress. Not willing to sit thru another year of mediocrity just to keep the status quo.

On another note. I listened to the post game on the radio and Urban said something curious. He was asked about the teams motivation and he said that he wasn't worried about the Ahmad Blacks but was worried about the kids whose uncles told them to come to UF to play for national championships. Sounds to me like he was questioning JB's motivation. Did anyone else catch that?
