I Actually Like Our Current Situation

Is it just me or do you guys always remember the Gators performing their best when being discouraged in the media? On that same note, the Gators always seem to under perform when the media is always praising them. Given the history of UF football I think we are in a much better position to do well this season than we were this time last year. It's a legacy that UF players perform best when they have a chip on their shoulder. Right now there is a pretty huge chip on our team's shoulder. I think our opening schedule performance flops will turn into huge motivators for future performances. It tore down any kind of arrogance the players had and taught them that they have to earn everything on every play. Our current woes will be the driving force that puts this team into an Atlanta matchup with Alabama in my opinion. Just like the loss to Ole Miss pushed the 2008 squad to a national title.

Agreed; there's a reason why "The Promise" is on a plaque at the right side of the entrance to the football complex. When faced with adversity, they manage to overcome and perform.

The key is for this team to peak in the right place at the right time - that's one of the reasons why we won championships in 2006 and 2008.

I'm with you--as long as we begin to perform more smoothly on Offense, not to mention EARLIER in the game!
(I'm in fact confident we WILL be really good as the season progresses; I only hope we can continue to rise to the occasion in time each Saturday while things are rounding into shape...)

I agree - this team hasn't handles being hyped up all that well in the past. We've never gone undefeated and I don't think we've ever gone from Preseason #1 to National Champs. These guys need to get beat down a little bit, even if they're still winning games... they need people to criticize them so they have something to work on.
