There have been a bunch of boneheads to don the orange and blue over the years. Perhaps none were as boneheaded as Marcus Thomas. Thomas was famously kicked off the 2005/2006 national championship squad after several chances to redeem himself after drug related offenses. Despite his checkered career at UF, his talent allowed him to still make an NFL roster. BTW, I was at the game pictured above. Out of every single Gator game I have ever been to, that was the most boring piece of crap I have ever had to sit through. There were actually cheers for Ron Zook after Meyer's offense consistently struggled against the severely out manned Bulldog defense.

I think most people on this board know how I feel about Mr. Smith. That being said, he was a valuable part of our special teams unit over the last three years.

That's noble of you lbg.
I hope the player for tomorrow is the one that, had he not played his position optimally, the "Spread" would not have reached fruition.

Looks like him to me...................
COACH MEYER: It takes a minute. It's a complicated offense,.........

A lot of it now has to do with your tight end and fullback. We happen to have an excellent tight end. That's the component that a lot of teams, do we play a spread with a tight end or fullback? We learned, we were very fortunate to have Billy Latsko, so we went that direction. It really helped us. It's just the installation and the complexity of it.

If Dustin Doe keeps going at his rate, he would have been arrested 56 times before game 1. If that's the case, something tells me Mr. Hicks will be the man to step up in his spot. Hicks came on late last season, and saw playing time over more heralded prospects like Lerentee McCray and John Brown. This year, Hicks will have to fend off another hot prospect in Jelani Jenkins to increase his playing time.

To be honest, I'm still miffed about Siler leaving early. Usually, I'm all for guys leaving when they have a chance to cash in, especially if they're ready (see my comments in recent Percy threads). But Siler had no business skipping his senior season. I think his draft position showed that. I still think he can make it in the NFL, but Siler, as well as Ryan Smith, should have stayed for their final year.

Plus, I know Brandon Hicks so I have a little bias.

Yea I agree Siler should have stayed, he would have helped our 07 defense alot. Although I don't Brandon Hicks he is from Jacksonville like me so good pick.

I agree with Siler and Smith should have stayed one more year. Also I think Moss should have as well, the pass attack would have been there in 2007. Though was drafted in the first round though he's probably not going to last long. Smith well he already his degree at Utah before coming here. Siler I don't know where to begin because I saw the mock drafts on fox sports and some of them had him going in the first round and yet falls to the 7th round (three rounds behind of Thomas who was kick out). Then again the linebackers were the strength of the 2007 team with Spikes and Doe. Plus maybe that's why Spikes stayed.

Chris Hetland may have had one of the worst follow-up to a breakout season in all of college football since the great Ken Simonton. Let's hope Jonathan Phillips doesn't follow in Hetland's footsteps. I just drafted Phillips for my fantasy college football team...
