Bubba Caldwell showed some speed at Combine

The top wide receiver 40-yard dash came from Cal's DeSean Jackson, who clocked a 4.35. Florida's Andre Caldwell, the younger brother of former Patriots wide receiver Reche Caldwell, tied for the second-fastest 40 among wideouts with a 4.37.

That should boost his stock some.

Is it just me, or was either Caldwell underused last season for deep pass plays or does Percy Harvin have a sub 4.30, Forty, time?

Bubba was used mostly in reverses and plays across the middle. Louis Murphy and Percy were used for the deep ball because they are faster. (Which is the scary part)

One team that needs some speed at WR is Chicago; they released Muhsin Muhammad not that long ago and it's still up in the air as to whether or not Bernard Berrian will re-sign or enter the free agent market. I hope Lovie Smith and the Bears GM (Jerry Angelo) will consider drafting Bubba Caldwell.

I would think so, but I agree that he was not used enough last year. Maybe it just appeared that way.

Don't forget he missed two games with a foot injury. I don't know that he really got back to normal until after VAndy and then all that was left was SC, FAU, and FSU then the bowl game. So, he was under used compared to last year and to what he should have been, but I think its understandable.

And Bubba was overshadowed by Tebow and Harvin. If he was on any other team he would have been propped up big time!

Not to mention one of the quarterback is a Gator alum Rex Grossman though I don't know if he's going to start or not.

WORD.....

and on a team like we have.... you get nicked and spend anytime on the sideline, there's enough backup talent to trim your playing time. If I remember correctly, Fayson stepped in pretty nicely which allowed Bubba's foot some xtra rest. In any event, I'll miss Bubba, he was clutch 98% of the time and evolved into a nice possession receiver for us.
