That’s CLEARLY what Mullens is thinking. If they can drive the field here, ultimately score in the FOURTH quarter, we will have gone a LONG way towards starting to put this thing away!
End of the third. Ya see? Burn time running the ball, finding SOME points SOMEhow, and we can get outta here with a win after all. Then we get back at least ONE of the Senior Safeties (the one lost to that early “targeting call”—I don’t know for sure, but I THINK we get the other one back in a matter of weeks: add in how much improvement one can expect from the first game to the second, ESPECIALLY THIS YEAR with so little real prep-work before this game, and you can only HOPE that this defense WON’T LOOK SO BAD A SECOND TIME this season! Put a healthy Trask-led offense and a more ready and composed defense together and you know, ALMOST ANYTHING BECOMES “POSSIBLE”, able to be envisioned as to how the REST of the season goes, what our record CAN BE!
