The Florida Gators (22-9, 9-7) played poorly down the stretch, but are coming off a big home win against rival Kentucky. The Gators have a legitimate shot of winning the Southeastern Conference Tournament which begins in Tampa at the St. Pete Times Forum Thursday. The Gators play their first SEC Tournament game Thursday at 9:45 pm against Arkansas (16-15, 2-14).

This is the fourth meeting between the two schools in SEC Tournament play. The Gators have won the two most recent meetings...
The Florida Gators won their first basketball game in what seems like forever (really they're 3-5 in their last 8 games). The Gators beat the Kentucky Wildcats 60-53 in the final regular season game of the 2008-2009 season. But was the win too little too late? Are the Gators still alive in their question for an NCAA Tournament bid? Only time will tell.

On senior night, the Gators only senior Walter Hodge came up big. Hodge hit seven of 12 shots, including three of five from outside the...
The 2008-2009 Gator men's basketball season is starting to look a lot like last year's. They started out hot as hell and are absolutely crumbling down the stretch. The Gators lost another SEC game yesterday, this time at home against the Tennessee Volunteers. The Gators are now 21-8 overall and 8-6 in the SEC.

Some experts think the Gators need 9 SEC wins to make the NCAA Tourney. If they have plans on getting in with 9 wins, one of them better be against Kentucky. With the way the Gators...
The No. 12 Florida Gator baseball team has started their season off in the right direction. They opened the 2009 season by sweeping the Louisville Cardinals and Eastern Michigan Eagles. They are now 5-0 and welcome the Miami Hurricanes tomorrow to McKethan Stadium.

The Gators are batting an impressive .343 as a team. I'd liked to see their power numbers improve a little bit (only 3 homeruns through 5 games), but they are still managing to put up a lot of runs without the long ball....
The Florida Gators have a chance to seal their NCAA Tourney fate tonight against the Louisiana State Tigers in Baton Rouge. If the Gators can pull out a win over the No. 18 ranked Tigers, I think it will be enough to lock them into a spot in the big dance. The Gators are currentl 21-6 overall, and 8-4 in the SEC. Some experts think the Gators need 10 wins in the SEC... but I think a win tonight would do it.

The Gators are not a good team on the road this season, and the Tigers are 11-1 in...
The Gator basketball team is fresh off a a big win against Alabama yesterday. Granted Alabama sucks, but the Gators really needed this win, and it vaulted them back into a tie for first place in the SEC East. With only 5 games left on the schedule, the Gators need to win at least 3 of them to advanace to the NCAA Tourney.

Yes they just reached 20 wins for the 11th year in a row, but their RPI just isn't that strong and they have been playing poorly down the stretch.

The University of...
What is going on with the Florida Gators men's basketball team. I can understand losing a close one to Kentucky last week, but losing to the Georgia Bulldogs (10-15 overall, 1-9 SEC) is just not acceptable. The Bulldogs are absolutely the worst basketball team in the SEC and have no business even being on the same court as the Gators.

The Gators have now lost 3 of their last 4 games and worsened their record to 19-6 overall (6-4 SEC). What is going on with this team?

Calathes scored 16...
Gator fans get so caught up in the two big sports: football and basketball, that we sometimes forget about our other sports. We want all our sports teams to go out there and win SEC Championships.

Did you you tennis has already started? I should have wrote a post about it when the season kicked off, but I guess I was too caught up in basketball. Both the men's and women's tennis team are off to a great start.

The seventh-ranked University of Florida men’s team (5-1) will continue its...
The Florida Gator men's basketball team (19-4) is traveling to Lexington, Kentucky for a game tonight with the Kentucky Wildcats (16-7). The Gators may have a better overall and SEC record then the Wildcats, but don't let that fool you. Kentucky is a strong team that can put up points, especially on their home court.

"Both teams have had a week off and I'm sure this time of year, from our perspective of trying to get back physically, just to heal some bumps and bruises…the last 15 days...

Today is National Signing Day for high school football players across the nation. This is the day that players sign a letter of intent to play for their college of choice. Most players have already signed with their teams, but a couple of big names are still out there. Either they can't decide......
