In fact, so much for "respectable".

Damn! You see that? I got charged up by that Gator TD JUST enough, got back into this game JUST enough to burn off my buzz! I started to GIVE a damn again! Now I am BUGGED!

I'm tellin' ya, let's send all the proven-useless players (Robison, Mack Brown, and so on) onto the field with simple instructions: get in there and MUG someone. Never mind penalties. Just mess up their game. Mess up THE GAME.
Never will happen. Very Unsportsmanlike. But accomplishes a couple of things...lets the deadwood know just what they're good for, and breaks the tension and disappointment for the rest with a few moments of hard-nosed comedy.
Just a fantasy, an imaginary improvement on watching us get drubbed in practically everything we try to do in a game where "Desperation Time" came by the start of the 4th qrtr.

Actually, looking back, "Desperation Time" should have been called from the start of the SECOND qrtr!
This is interesting--on the back'n'forth here, we got the ball at their 42 with almost 10 minutes left. I asked to see fighters, lo and behold we HAVE a few...here comes a few throws down the field...

I'm afraid Brisset only made one big throw today--and he had several more wide open he couldn't complete (Like THAT one). Didn't do enough to displace a healthy Driskel--who in turn didn't do CLOSE to enough yet to either displace a healthy Brantley OR win NEXT year's job yet, at least so far.
We've still got a "Next-QB" to find, and a whole defense to re-train in the basics of tackling, in the course of the next few weeks.

I cannot stand this tackling. This is pathetic. These clowns better hit the weightroom hard in the offseason because their refusal to tackle the right way costs them over and over and over again.

I am not sure if Coach Weis crafted a game plan to let Brissett get comfortable. I say start him next week at Auburn. What is the worst that could happen?

(Big Sigh) Hearing Danielson complimenting us condescendingly is just like nails-on-glass for me. (THAT'S what your "moral victory" is worth--they're rolling over us, we can't stop ANYONE they throw at us, and he's telling us "Good game--no quit..."? This really IS the worst, now.)

How's that for tackling? Just let him walk in.

LAST week I wanted to hear what Coach had to say afterwards. This time I am beyond that: I just don't see how anything anyone says to US matters. Only what we see on the field matters now. I want to see the toughest guys out there now. I want to see progress on all the things that have to get better, in all the areas we are lacking in now.
I'll know progress when I see it. I'll recognize long term plans taking priority over "let's try this". You don't need to tell us. You just need to show us.
Sorry Gators--I'm less surprised at the loss, somehow, but MORE surprised by the score and the way it happened: I really thought our defense was better than that, would bounce back and do abetter job all around--ESPECIALLY of tackling.

Mostly true, I guess...Burton had his moments, I think (sort of a jumbled haze of, well, not "ups'n'downs" but "downs'n'further-downs", mostly--it's started to rain here in South-central Texas, in the middle of what's been a LONG draught--fittingly depressing)

Gator player of the game? LSU's Honey Badger for showing us what a playmaker looks like and reminding us of how good we were at one time. Not one of the clowns in orange and blue showed me that they deserve football scholarships. When I went to UF I had to keep a 2.75 GPA. These have a 0.75 GPA based on all phases of the game. Turn in your scholarship money. Now.
