Muschamp on drug problem or lack thereof, Randy Moss in Gainesville, and two offers

There is not drug problem on the team, the coach said this week in Orlando, despite three arrests for marijuana since January.

“I think it’s all isolated situations," he said speaking to the Central Florida Gators Club. (Click here for photos of the event)

"We’ve got a good situation going. We’ve got some good kids on our football team. Some guys made poor choices and decisions; that shouldn’t reflect on the whole team.”

Muschamp says that he hasn't specifically addressed drug use, but has talked about "making good decisions"

“It’s not going to change. We could have no incidents for 10 years, but we’re still going to be doing it. When you’re dealing with young people — I’m a parent. My kids aren’t as old as the kids I’m coaching, but when you’re dealing with young people, you’re always in that developmental stage of making good choices.”

As for his meeting with Janoris Jenkins that led to the All-SEC corner's dismissal Muschamp said "We presented some options and it just didn't work out."

That confirms earlier reports that Jenkins was presented with a suspension and some guidelines and rebuffed them. Jenkins later said that he was told he was off the team with no discussion.

Muschamp defended John Brantley a little bit on Wednesday night. He also said he communicates with his staff via Skype.

He continued to voice concerns about the line of scrimmage, and says the Gators have 13 offensive linemen and they need 18.

-The Gators have offered Class of 2013 defensive back Marcell Harris out of South Lake High School in Groveland, Fla. Other schools interested in the 6-foot-2 Harris are Miami, Florida State, Texas and Notre Dame.

-Florida also offered running back Beniquez Brown, class of 2012, out of Florence High School in Florence, Alabama . He wears No. 42 and he's a bruiser, just the kind of back Muschamp wants to play in this offense. He would join Matt Jones and Mike Davis as RB's in next year's class if he commits.

Muschamp wants a superstar running back bad, not just a good runner but someone who can takeover a game.

-Class of 2012 tight end Colin Thompson out of Archbishop Wood High School in Warminster, PA will make his decision Thursday afternoon about where he'll play in 2012. The 6-foot-5 junior is believed to have narrowed his choices down to Florida and Wisconsin. He also had offers from Penn State, Notre Dame and Alabama among others.

-NFL wideout Randy Moss' daughter, Sydney, has committed to the Gators women's basketball team.

-Two former Gators were selected in this week's UFL draft.

Corner Reynaldo Hill was selected No. 2 overall by the Omaha and defensive tackle Ian Scott was selected 30th overall by Virginia.

-Finally here's a look back at one of the all time great running backs, and former Gator Emmitt Smith
