How good can CI be?

How much better can CI get? Can he develop into 1st round material? Since he played basketball, he gets a lot of comparisons to Antonio Gates. They have similar body types... CI is 6'4 230, while Gates is 6'4 260 (although I don't think he is seriously 260 lbs).
