Gators Put It All Together in 85-47 Blowout of Yale

Ga8or22

Eventis sultorum magister.
They had rolled to a 26-point halftime lead over Yale, the same team fresh off a stunning upset of defending national champion Connecticut, and the Florida Gators were back on the floor Monday night and ready to warm up for the second half.
For those not keeping score at home, the second half has not been kind to the Gators this season, especially on the heels of that post-intermission collapse at Kansas just three nights earlier when Florida blew an 18-point lead with less than 17 to go.

Yes, it was Yale, but it was a win. The Gators look downright ugly this year.

(Sign of the times I'm even OVER here on B-ball before the SEC-tournament EARLIEST)
Well, one thing I can say bout Billy D is that he tends to get his Gators ready when it really counts, towards the END of the season, just pre-Dance. Probably annually precludes any shot at a clean #1 Seed, but imo he seems to have the right idea of how to approach a long grueling season that has relatively minimal-bearing on what happens in March: Just make sure you win enough games, including big ones regularly here and there, to BE there come selection-time--but don't push your team too hard too fast. Pace the build-up. If they look "ugly" before Christmas, well, you got time--and it isn't as if it'll be difficult getting your team's attention when even they can see/feel how disjointed their game still is. Even when they win, they can't bitch that much that he continues to work them hard in practice. And so on.
Will see (and worry about) how things look sometime after football NSD. All KINDS of talent on this squad--and not like BD has forgotten how to coach. If they're healthy, everything should look a good deal better by March.
