Gators Beat LSU 72-58

The Florida Gators men's basketball team got back on the winning side of things this weekend with a 72-58 victory over the LSU Tigers on Saturday night. The Gators are now 1-2 in SEC play and head on the road to Fayetteville on Thursday for a game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. The Gators played as a collective unit - in fact, all five starters scored double digit in points. It's amazing what happens when you play team ball.

Freshman Kenny Boynton led the Gators in scoring with 18 points, Alex Tyus and Vernon Macklin led the Gators in rebounding with 8 each, and Erving Walker had the most assists with 6. The Gators were 27-54 in field goal shooting and 7-17 (41.2%) from beyond the arc. They still struggled in free throw shooting though - only 11-21 for the game. That is one area this team definitely needs to work on. It seems like in the past 3 years the Gators just can't make a free throw.

The Arkansas game on Thursday will be televised nationally on ESPN at 9:00 p.m.
