Game day: Florida vs. New Mexico State

"90 yd drive"...Kelvin Taylor is a beast--and Scarlet's a comer, too. This offense is only gonna get stronger, game by game. OK, it's "the other Aggies", New Mexico State, for goodness sake--but last year we'd be floundering around at 0-0 into the 2nd qrtr at LEAST.

(They're goin' on 4th doen--have to, I guess, way this is otherwise headed) I just went out to the garage to move some wash to the dryer, stopped long enough to razz my A&M-Aggie neighbor bout us beating up on "his" Aggies, get back and we'd scored again--Was it Grier in charge this time? (NICE stop, btw--good try, good play, executed, BUt--Gator-ball!)

Aw SHIT! That is the kind of unsettled, inexperienced play you are concerned with when a kid has as little experience as Grier...Geez, I am SO tired of prep stars not comin' thru' for us--but let's give him a chance, see how he grows, IF he grows...Meanwhile, we stopped 'em once down here, damn shame they get another shot.

To be fair, Grier DID throw a TD pass. However, one more turnover from him. Harris stays on until the 4th quarter.

Well, we are just gonna have to score a bunch more points, damnit--and Grier has to suck it up, stay composed, play a within a himself and all those other obvious cliches...Damnit, Will, you get the chance, you drop a rainbow over Robinson's shoulder behind the secondary! We just haven't seen that often enough for years--and it's what you did repeatedly, were recruited for outta prep!

Grier takes em in here, they continue to roll it up, most of the f-ups'll be forgotten by everyone but the assistant coaches by Monday...

Grier's LEGS got it done there--NOT supposed to be HIS "strength...Well, an early f-up by each QB, Grier's costing us the ball deep in our own end and eventually a score--but overall, I don't think it's too early, or too optimistic, to say that we are mostly showing everything we HOPED we'd show on offense. And yeah, even if it's given more than we'd like to see against what we THINK is gonna be a pretty weak offense, after all, the D had to be backed up in its own end repeatedly before they finally gave up a score...until now. Damn! They gamble and make it work--great call, great catch--OUCH.

Well, maybe we oughtta let Hargreaves go back to concentrating on his defensive work--guy's gotten behind him TWICE, and that's not something he usually lets happen. SHOOT! ANOTHER WR drops an easy TD. Are we EVER gonna get some winners back there?
