Fate of the 9 players involved in the credit card scandal

The following Gators were suspended before the first game of the season for their involvement in a credit card scandal:
  • Kadeem Telfort OL
  • Antonio Callaway WR
  • Jordan Scarlett RB
  • Keivonnis Davis DL
  • Richard Desir-Jones DL
  • Jordan Smith DL
  • James Houston LB
  • Ventrell Miller LB
  • Rick Wells WR
In October the following players were ordered into pre-trial intervention with the hopes of avoiding serious jail time:
  • Antonio Callaway WR
  • Jordan Scarlett RB
  • Keivonnis Davis DL
  • Richard Desir-Jones DL
  • James Houston LB
  • Ventrell Miller LB
  • Rick Wells WR
That leaves Kadeem Telfort and Jordan Smith as the two most culpable players who were not given the option of pre-trial intervention. Jordan Smith announced his intention to transfer, assuming another school can and will take him with a blemish on his record. There have been mixed reports on Kadeem Telfort, but we do know that he has withdrawn from UF. Depending on how serious the charges are against him he may elect to transfer, or he might be done with college athletics.

Antonio Callaway announced his intention to obtain an agent and try to get into the NFL a an undrafted free agent.

Richard Desir-Jones announced his intention to transfer, even though he presumably had the option to return.

This leaves the following players as returning from the credit card scandal:
  • Jordan Scarlett RB
  • Keivonnis Davis DL
  • James Houston LB
  • Ventrell Miller LB
  • Rick Wells WR
Keivonnis Davis was involved in a serious scooter accident, so he might not return for health reasons.
