Blakley headed to Auburn and a few notes on 2012 commit JaFar Mann

Muschamp ended his Gator Club Tour this week-meanwhile the coaches are out on the recruiting trail here are a few players they are tracking and or visiting according to reports.

John Theus-6”6 offensive lineman from Bolles High School in Jacksonville, he hasn’t commited but he’s rated as a Top 10 player and perhaps the best at his position for the 2012 class.

Shaq Roland-Florida has offered the 6-foot-1 Roland a scholarship, but he has yet to make a commitment. The South Carolina native is said to be the best recruit in S.C.
According to one report, Roland is deciding between the Gators, Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina.
Avery Johnson-The wideout is committed to LSU but that could change. Aubrey Hill and Charlie Weis are recruiting him. It sounds like Mr. Johnson is far awar from being a solid verbal at this point for the Bayou Bengals.

Chris Black-a 5”11 wideout from Jacksonville’s First Coast High School. He’s got offers from Alabama and Auburn as well as Miami and Florida State.

Eddie Goldman-6-foot-4 defensive tackle out of Washington D.C. regarded as one of the top DT’s in the country.

Stefon Diggs-6”0 wideout from Olney Maryland who has offers from just about every BCS school, and he hasn’t narrowed them down yet.

Continuing our look at the Class of 2012 moving down the list we have JaFar Mann. That sounds like a defensive tackles name if there ever was one that did.

Mann is a 6"4 295 pound defensive linemen, who also has offers from Auburn, Alabama and Illinois among others.

He's out of Stone Mountain, Ga and football powerhouse Stephenson High School, where he plays with teammate and running back Mike Davis, also a 2012 Gator Commitment.

Here's what Mann said about UF, "It's a big family there. I went down there for a junior day and loved it. It's more than just football at the University of Florida. There is support and everyone is together. Everything about that place just stands out."

By the time 2012 rolls around Mann could have a shot at being a contributor early on as a freshman as defensive line is a weak spot currently on the roster.

He describes himself as a run stopper who wants to improve his speed and quickness.

It's hard to find that much information about him, but his alleged cell phone is actually listed on the video below.

-One basketball note, word is that Chandler Parsons is moving closer first-round material with solid workouts at the Chicago Pre-draft combine. It's still not likely he'll go in the first 30, but not impossible for the right team.

You don't know what your're missing, if you've never had it. So is the case of running back Mike Blakely who left the Gators before stepping foot on the field so to speak. The early enrollee missed all of spring practice with a shoulder injury and then asked for a transfer.

Blakely had no trouble finding a new home at a major program. And now that he has, it makes you think twice about his whole transfer to begin with, especially when that school is Auburn.

Muschamp didn't put any conditions on his transfer (he could have), still the freshman will have to sit out one year before playing for the Tigers because of NCAA rules. Hopefully in 2012 or '13 Blakely doesn't become one that got away.

Running back isn't a problem for the Gators and even with the reported immense talent he possesses, carries are going to be hard to come by in Gainesville in the next few years, he may have been the guy who got those carries but none the less, Rainey, Demps, Mike Gillislee, Mack Brown others this year and whelp coming next year with Mike Davis and Matt Jones-the position is not a major concern.
