Some observations following UF’s 94-71 win over Arkansas Little Rock:

— Florida coach Mike White said he’s pleased with what he’s getting offensively from Kevarrius Hayes and Schuyler Rimmer at center in John Egbunu’s absence. Rimmer has moved ahead of freshman Gorjok Gak on the depth chart at center and had 3 points, 1 rebounds and an assist against UARL, “Schuyler has improved his conditioning,” White said. But White said he felt that both Hayes and Rimmer had lapses in one-and-one post defense against UARL center Lis Shoshi, who scored a team-high 19 points with a variety of shots close to the basket.

— For the second straight game, Florida was able to outrebound a smaller opponent, finishing with a 33-24 edge on the boards against UARL. But Arkansas Little-Rock still ended up with 10 second-chance points off eight offensive rebounds. White said defensive rebounding still needs to improve heading into SEC play.

— Florida continues to get good production from its bench. Senior forward Canyon Barry led the way with 15 bench points, while junior point guard Chris Chiozza (3 points, 3 assists), redshirt freshman forward Keith Stone (5 points, 2 rebounds) and freshman guard Eric Hester (3 points) also made threes off the bench.
