Gelindo "Lindy" Infante played tailback for Ray Graves from 1960 to 1962, where he suffered two serious injuries that limited his playing time--a rupture lung in 1960 and a broken leg in 1962. At his peak, he performed well with key scores in victories over powerhouses Georgia Tech and Clemson. He was named 3rd team All SEC in 1962 and was named a Distinguished Letter Winner in 1988. After graduating with a bachelor's in physical education, he returned as an assistant under Ray Graves, then Doug Dickey. He is given credit for recruiting Gator Great Carlos Alvarez.
