This thread being our current main "sign of life" here at GE, I tend to comment here on all-things-gator as they surface during the "dog days"...So it is with the announcement on Jake Allen's part that he has now fully committed to UF, will indeed join us as a freshman QB fall 2017. Just watched his sopmore highlight reel, and he's already making many of the throws our "seasoned" (and "highly rated" coming in) QBs of the last few years apparently COULDN'T make. 'Course, that St. Thomas Aquinas prep team seems to have more RECEIVERS than us too--at least more reliable ones. Bearing in mind that the speed AND level of play in our conference is the best there is at the college level, it'll still be exciting to see what he can do under MacEllwain's tutelage. Indeed, I'm kinda cranked at what one of our CURRENT pair can achieve now (and not to be fickle, abandon or forget the rare buzz of promise and excitement that Treon brought to our otherwise moribund offense last season under Muschamp & Co., but I admit a certain gut-level intuition that the first step in this real resurgence at QB may be with Grier in there as his "onfield avatar" in Coach Mac's Gator offense over the next coupla seasons...just a feeling).
