Samuel Lee Green played linebacker for Doug Dickey's Florida Gators from 1972 to 1975. He is remembered for forcing a fumble on an Auburn running back, thus leading to the Gators' first-ever victory at Jordan-Hare Stadium. In his senior year of 1975 he was team captain, All SEC, and Consensus All American. He was a 2nd round draft pick by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1976 NFL Draft. He was inducted into the University of Florida Athletic Association Hall of Fame in 2003 as a Gator Great.
