35 –Larry Dupree, HB/FB (1962-64)

Lawrence Dupree of MacClenny, FL, almost made the silly decision to play for the Georgia Leghumpers, Thankfully he decided to turn south on I-75 and play for Ray Graves and the Florida Gators. Larry played alongside some great players such as Steve Spurrier, Lindy Infante, and Tom Shannon. The 1963 team rallied around Larry after the loss of his infant baby to a 6-3-1 record. Larry played on a squad that defeated a Joe Namath-led Crimson Tide at Bryant Denny Stadium. He set a school record by carrying the ball 31 times in a game (for 138 yards), which helped keep the new rivalry between with Florida State at 5-0-1. In 1962 he broke the record for yardage gained by a sophomore, and ended his career 2nd on the UF all-time rushing list with 1,725 yards.
