Anybody else freezing their toes off in North Florida? Yeah, It really shouldn’t be this cold in March. But anywho, just thought I’d weigh in on how the NFL scouting combine turned out for the former Gators, and the chances of Billy Donavon’s team getting into the big dance…Last week, the Tebow show moved it’s cameras to Indy and the NFL scouting combine. Tebow did fairly well at the combine, despite not throwing because of his throwing motion and mechanics being under reconstruction…

Former Florida Gator defensive end Carlos Dunlap plead no contest on his DUI case today. I’m sure you remember Carlos was arrested on December 1, 2009 just days before the SEC Championship Game… resulting in a suspension that severely hurt the Gators chances at beating Alabama. Anyway – we’re over that, right? Dunlap got pretty much the same treatment all celebrity athletes get in a DUI case, probation.

Two more underclassmen had declared for the NFL Draft – the deadline to declare is Friday, January 15. It’s really no surprise that Carlos Dunlap will be leaving for the NFL. He was an absolute beast on the field, is the perfect size for the NFL and many scouts have him as a Top 15 talent. Maurkice Puncey’s situation was a litter different – people weren’t sure if he’d leave his twin brother Mike. But, both are moving on and we wish them nothing but success.

The 2010 NFL Draft could see as many as eight Florida Gator players selected in the first two rounds. I know we’re months away from the NFL Draft in April – and we still have a Sugar Bowl to player – but several underclassmen have petitioned to the NFL Draft advisory board to get a talent evaluation. What that basically means is a bunch of NFL Scouts will rate the player and give him a potential draft slot. If the evaluation comes back as a first or second round pick, then it’s likely a junior will come out.

Earlier this week, Florida Gator defensive end – and super star talent – Carlos Dunlap was arrest on DUI charges. He apparently was celebrating something with alcohol and got behind the wheel at like 2:00am. You know Urban Meyer stresses to his players what is right and what is wrong, but Meyer can’t babysit his players 24/7. Dunlap, who is only 20 years old, made a mistake and now he is paying for it.
