As rumors of Billy Donovan being pursued by other colleges (St. Johns and oddly enough, Oregon) developed during the week, many Gator fans were getting worked up. Some were saying “how could he do this to us after we took him back from the Orland Magic” and other were saying ” good – let him go, we’d rather have Anthony Grant anyway.” Well, we can put all those rumors to rest. It looks like Billy Donovan is here to stay.

Something has happened to the Florida Gators men’s basketball team – something bad. After starting out 8-0, they’ve now dropped 3 games in a row, the latest coming last night in the O’Dome. The No. 18 Gators were defeated 66-67 by the South Alabama Jaguars.

The Florida Gators men’s basketball team suffered a tough loss last night in Columbia, South Carolina against the Gamecocks. South Carolina’s Zam Fredrick made a layup as time expired to lift the Gamecocks to a 70-69 victory over No. 24 Florida. The loss snapped the Gators’ 10-game win streak.

The Florida Gators (5-1) clinched their fifth win of the season with a 86-65 victory over the University of Missouri-Kansas City Kangaroos (3-5) at Amway Arena in Orlando as part of Sunday’s Gator Jam. In the first meeting between the two schools, sophomore forward Alex Tyus led the charge for UF with a career-high 25 points, and a season-high eight rebounds as the Gators moved to 31-3 overall in the month of November.
